Does the character count include spaces?

The page shows both totals. Characters includes whitespace; Characters (no spaces) removes whitespace before counting.

How is reading time calculated?

Word count is divided by 200 words per minute and rounded for display. It is an estimate, not a personal reading-speed measurement.

Why can a sentence count be unexpected?

Sentence detection is punctuation-based. Abbreviations, decimals, and web addresses can contain periods that do not end sentences.

Does it count multilingual text?

Modern browsers use Unicode language segmentation, which can identify words in many scripts without relying only on spaces. Browser results can still vary.
