How It Works
The QR library converts UTF-8 payload data into a matrix and chooses an appropriate QR version. The current interface uses the library’s fixed/default error-correction behavior rather than exposing L, M, Q, or H. A blank four-module border is included to help scanners distinguish the matrix from surrounding artwork.

Scanners display the payload as text rather than inventing a link.
Before You Print It
Always scan the finished code before it goes on anything printed — a code that fails in the wild is expensive to discover later. Links with query strings should be percent-encoded first, because an unescaped character silently breaks the destination.
Print needs more pixels than a screen: resize the downloaded PNG for the physical size, keep contrast high using exact values from the color converter, and collect multiple codes into one PDF for table cards or handouts.
PNG, SVG, Size, and Scan Quality
PNG has fixed raster dimensions. SVG describes the matrix as vectors and can scale without raster pixelation. Physical print size, contrast, payload density, surface, lighting, camera, and quiet space all affect scanning; a pixel size alone does not guarantee a distance.
Before You Publish
- Use dark modules on a light background
- Keep the quiet zone clear of text and graphics
- Avoid stretching or cropping the matrix
- Scan the final exported design on more than one device
Important Edge Cases
- Long payloads create denser codes and can become harder to scan at small sizes.
- A manually entered Wi-Fi-style string is encoded as supplied; the tool does not validate its fields.
- A syntactically typed URL is not checked for safety or availability.
Limitations
- Colors, logos, and error-correction levels are not configurable.
- The tool does not create dynamic or trackable QR codes.
- It does not guarantee that every scanner understands specialized payload formats.
Input handling
Private Browser Processing
The payload is passed only to the QR library in the browser and is not submitted to Tiny Tiny Tools.
Google Analytics records page visits and whether a tool finished or failed, but these tool implementations do not send field values, generated passwords, QR payloads, uploaded QR images, or camera frames to analytics or a Tiny Tiny Tools processing endpoint.
Safety note: Test links before distribution and avoid embedding secrets in a QR code; anyone who scans it can read the payload.
