Image Cropper

Cropping removes image areas outside a selected frame. It does not resize the remaining pixels, and it keeps the same JPEG, PNG, or WebP format as the source file.

Remove unwanted edges from one image with a freeform frame and pixel width, height, and position.

  1. Add your image
  2. Choose the crop
  3. Download

Frequently Asked Questions

Does cropping reduce image dimensions?

Yes. Pixels outside the frame are removed, so the download uses the selected width and height.

Can I lock an aspect ratio?

No. This cropper is freeform. Use the Image Resizer when you need a preset ratio such as 1:1 or 16:9.

Can I position a crop without a mouse?

Yes. Focus the visible crop frame and use arrow keys; Shift plus an arrow moves it farther. You can also type Position X and Position Y.

Will cropping make the file smaller?

Often, because fewer pixels are stored, but format, quality, transparency, and image detail also affect file size.

Can the cropper remove a background?

No. It removes rectangular outer areas only; it does not isolate a person or object from its background.
